Vegetable glycerin
INCI
Glycerin
MÉTODO DE OBTENCIÓN
Vegetable glycerin, also known as liquid glycerin or glycerol, is obtained through the hydrolysis of vegetable oil fats, such as coconut or soybean oil. The result of this process is a colorless, thick liquid with a viscous texture.
BENEFICIOS
It stands out mainly for its moisturizing function. This is because the composition of vegetable glycerin forms a protective barrier that prevents external aggressions and retains moisture found in the epidermis. Consequently, it prevents dryness and flaking of the skin.
Likewise, this ingredient is hypoallergenic and antibacterial, so it can be used on sensitive or acne-prone skin.
Vegetable glycerin is also a good alcohol substitute for making herbal extracts.
Farnesol is often used in products to treat acne, deodorants, colognes, perfumes, and moisturizing lotions, among other cosmetic items.
