MÉTODO DE OBTENCIÓN
Black iron oxide is a mineral pigment composed of iron and oxygen. It belongs to the group of iron oxides, which also includes yellow iron oxide (CI 77492) and red iron oxide (CI 77491).
This compound is found naturally in magnetite, a mineral. However, synthetic versions are safer.
BENEFICIOS
Its usefulness is to give products their characteristic black color. It is normally used together with red and yellow iron oxides to create different skin tones. For this reason, its use is so widespread in cosmetics designed to blend in with the dermis. This is the case, for example, with foundations and makeup powders.
