MÉTODO DE OBTENCIÓN
It is a natural resin extracted from two trees of the genus Styrax: el Styrax tonkinensis (Southeast Asia) and the Styrax benzoin (native to Sumatra). Both are popularly known as Benzoin.
The resin extraction process can be done by means of a distillation method or by incisions made in the trunk.
BENEFICIOS
Among the properties attributed to benzoin resin is its aroma, which is relaxing and comforting. It also has astringent, hemostatic, and antiseptic qualities.
It acts as an emollient, protecting and soothing the skin and keeping it healthy and firm. Thanks to its thick consistency, it can create a protective layer on the surface of tissues to prevent moisture loss.
