You don't have to be a "genius" to realize that starting a business in Spain is a complicated task: political management, extremely high self-employment fees, few facilities for small businesses, and, of course, a system created to favor large companies. It's difficult to make your way in a world of "dinosaurs" although it's nice to travel through it and see that, little by little, the fruits of your labor are reaped. A few days ago, I read that Spain ended the year with fewer self-employed workers than expected in 2017, and there are many theories about it. As always, based on specific political ideals. Unfortunately, politics is everywhere, even if they make us believe it isn't.
Well, a few months ago I decided that to give a real kick-off to this project, Maminat, I would do a crowdfunding; that is, a type of collective financing. For those who are not familiar with it, it consists of individuals contributing "x" amount of money to your project so that you can carry out a specific action. It is something collaborative and highlights that we are a society. From my point of view, it is wonderful. Those who contribute to the project can receive a reward from the creator of the crowdfunding.
In my case, I needed funding to be able to go through the necessary procedures and certify the shower gels, the eye contour and the virgin milk. In addition, the crowdfunding financing would allow me to carry out the first production of these products.
Nowadays there are many crowdfunding platforms and I opted for Ulule. They were founded in France, I liked what I saw and they had just arrived in our country. From minute 1 I received good advice, they helped me and I am sooo.... grateful. Especially to Naiara, who was the person who contacted me through the screen and who, after this crowdfunding action, has become a follower of Maminat and I have had the opportunity to meet her in person.
Almost 100 contributors to MaminatMany of you believed in me and my project, and you have no idea how exciting that is. I promised you in one of the rewards that I would mention you on the website, and that's what I'm doing at the end of this blog article. Many of you I don't know, others are very close to me, and there are also customers who already bought Maminat shampoos and facial creams. You are wonderful!
Rewards and experiencesMy project on Ulule had this format and, for contributors who had offered a larger financial contribution, in addition to the usual product rewards, I offered the experience of having a meal so that we could all get to know each other. I held this meal next to my house, in the town of Serra and in the heart of the Sierra Calderona in Valencia.
