Another year, Mother's Day arrives. The first Sunday in May (this year, Sunday, May 6th) is a very special day for many people because it celebrates the affection we have for those who gave us life, who made us who we are thanks to their constant sacrifices, and because, as there is only one mother, it will always be a very important day for many people. The first Mother's Day traditionsSurely you all know this day and many of you will celebrate it, but do you really know what is being celebrated and what its origin is? As with many topics, there are many versions of how it began, but the truth is that they all date back to Ancient Greece and Ancient Egypt. They say that the Egyptians worshipped the goddess Isis (the Great Mother Goddess) and that the Greeks paid homage to Rhea, who was the mother of all the Gods of Olympus. The Romans also honored Cybele, who was known as a universal mother, and it was they who established a specific day, March 15th, to commemorate this goddess through offerings in temples. If we move a little closer to Europe, the maternal figure worshipped by Catholics was the Virgin Mary, but this would be several centuries later; and in Spain, it was associated with the Immaculate Conception; therefore, Mother's Day was celebrated on December 8th. But when was Mother's Day officially established? As you can see, throughout history there have always been certain tributes in most cultures, but no official day to celebrate Mother's Day was established until 1914. In fact, it was in the United States that this tradition began, specifically it was President Wilson Woodrow who declared in this year that the second Sunday of May would be celebrated this moment. As a result, many countries joined this custom. However, many people think differently and associate the beginning of this celebration with the USA, but in 1873, by the activist Julia Ward Howe, who was a defender of women's rights who wrote the Mother's Day Proclamation and established an official day. In Spain, it was celebrated for many years on the second Sunday as the United States had stipulated until 1965, when they agreed to move this day to the first Sunday of May. In addition, they named this month "the month of the Virgin Mary," the most important maternal figure in the Christian religion. At Maminat, we love to celebrate this dayDo you remember how, ever since we were little, we celebrated this day by giving a gift to our moms? At school, we always made crafts where we wrote "I love you, Mom" and we were so excited to give them to her on her special day. Surely, if you have young children, they are still doing the same. As the years go by, this tradition doesn't have to be lost, and it's always great to give a little something to those people who have given us everything and who are so special to us. That's why, at Maminat, we have prepared a gift with which you can surprise her and show her how important your mothers are to you.
We have prepared some boxes: the Mother's Day Large Box and the Mother's Day Small Box. With the large box, you can surprise her with virgin milk and wipes, so she can clean her face every day; with the eye contour and the always young facial cream, so she can hydrate and nourish her skin; and with the hand cream, which will leave them super soft and she will love its aroma. The Small Box contains virgin milk and wipes, as well as the Terreta body cream that we love so much with its characteristic citrus scent, so she can hydrate her body's skin. In both boxes, we also include a small card with which you can wish your mother a happy day, and everything will be wrapped with a special design we have created to celebrate this day. She'll love it! |
