Why bet on mineral paper or stone paper labels?

The packaging, the design, the raw material... There are several aspects that speak of our business, and consistency between them is key to ensuring the quality of the final product is not diminished. Just like these aspects, our product labels also speak of what our brand is like, which is why at Maminat we work with stone paper labels. The alternatives in label materials are increasing; there are plastic, paper, and even mineral ones, with the latter being the most environmentally friendly.

Your cosmetics are ecological, but what about their labels?

More and more brands boast about being ecological to satisfy consumers while also showing concern for the environment, but are they 100% ecological? At Maminat, we care about the environment, which is why all our products are made with ecological, recyclable, and biodegradable materials. One of our challenges was the labels, as we wanted to offer a product that was completely in line with the brand's philosophy. That's why all our product labels are made with stone paper, making them waterproof, grease-resistant, and more durable than usual, something very important considering that among our products are gels and shampoos that are often exposed to high humidity.

Why do we opt for stone paper labels?

Stone paper labels are made from a mixture of calcium carbonate and renewable and recyclable polyethylene. Generally, they consist of 80% of this mineral and 20% polyethylene. In short, this paper is the result of a mixture of calcium carbonate, which is extracted by crushing limestone pieces like marble or gypsum to obtain a fine powder (which makes up 80% of the paper) with non-toxic polyethylene resins (around 20%). The mixture of these two products gives the label a smooth texture, making it water and tear-resistant, and an ideal material for glass containers with high resistance to water and ice, being especially used in gourmet products.

Advantages of using stone paper labels

In addition to achieving consistency between what you claim to be and what you are, using stone paper labels has multiple advantages. At Maminat, we want to reveal the most important ones for us and those we considered when selecting these labels for our products.
  • Photodegradable material: Stone paper labels, depending on the conditions, degrade between 6 and 11 months, and are recycled in the yellow bin (type 2).
  • No trees are cut down to create these labels.
  • No water is needed for their production.
  • We don't need chlorine to produce it.
  • Reduces polluting emissions.
  • Reduces greenhouse gases.
At Maminat, we advise you that if you truly want to care for the environment, pay attention to these small details that can make a difference. For us, the phrase "natural and organic cosmetics" also implies being consistent with nature and our surroundings.
